Episode 35, Friday 10 October 2008
The item up for auction is a pair of William IV silver tea caddies, made in Dublin by Richard Sawyer in 1834. They are based on an original Chinoiserie design by the great London silversmith Paul de Lamerie, and are intricately beautiful in the Rococo style.
Adrian bid $8650
Niccole bid $8500
Gordon bid $11500
The hammer dropped at $12500, so once again Gordon walked away with the booty.
