This show and tell object is small but magnificent. It might be just a ukulele, but what a ukulele!
Sent in by Terry of Elwood in Melbourne, it was made in 1926 by the world famous Martin company, renowned for their superb acoustic guitars. It’s a K5 model, the top of the Martin range. Its body is made from the Hawaiian timber Koa, and it is beautifully decorated with mother of pearl inlay.
It is complete with a capo, pitch-pipe for tuning, and spare strings. It’s case is in excellent condition, and even has the original key!
All up, it is valued at $15,000!
