Under the Hammer tonight is a change and a challenge.
We present the panel with three objects from separate auctions, only one of which sells. They don’t have to guess the selling price their challenge is to guess what’s in vogue, that is, which one sells.
The objects are a 1920s Clarice Cliff duck figurine (rare); a very stylish Fornasetti Console cabinet; and a Featherston R160 classic chair and ottoman from 1951.
The Panel consider their options carefully. They are told the winning bid is $5,500. Gordon goes for the duck, Niccole likes the Fornasetti, and so does Adrian. When the hammer drops, it’s the Featherston! Bad luck Panel.
