This iconic Australian auction object is a carved cedar panel dated 1928, and signed by John Blogg, one of our greatest wood carvers.
It is large, and depicts, as was his specialty, eucalypt leaves, branches and gum nuts. And although at first glance one would think the sculpture has been applied to the backing panel, this is not the case. The extraordinarily realistic work is from the one block of timber.
