Hand Painted Plate by Martin Boyd

The plate was left in the estate of my uncle - no one else from the family wanted it because it was 'too kitch". So I ended up with it. Mtyback ground is Dutch and so I said that iIwould have it. When my cousins saw the back and the artists name - they suddenly regretted passing it up!!!
I had it valued $1500 but then a few years later it was valued at $75 !!!!

Questions:My question is - exactly what is the plate worth and how would I go about selling it and would any one even want it?
