Michael finally reaches the great Okavango Delta and kicks back in a dugout canoe to enjoy a slice of the gentler Africa we're all familiar with. He hitches north-west to his hometown in Zimbabwe hoping to relive the rapture he felt as a child in Africa but is confronted almost immediately by a gang of homeless street kids.
While investigating their harrowing tales of sexual abuse he is arrested and interrogated by local police. He is eventually released and given his marching orders. He heads for the mountains and hikes through an isolated border pass into Mozambique. He meets Isabelle, a five year old landmine victim. Over the next two weeks he watches her learn to walk again. She is an inspiration, a symbol of her country's tenacious spirit.
