The ABC Symphony Australia Young Performers Awards is an annual competition which encourages the talent and ambitions of Australia's young musicians. Originally called the Concerto and Vocal Competition, the Awards have provided opportunities for an extraordinary number of our finest classical performers, including Geoffrey Parsons, Roger Woodward, Vernon Hill, Glenys Fowles, Neil Warren-Smith, Nathan Waks, Rosamund Illing, Diana Doherty and Adele Anthony.

2008 Competition

Applications for the 2008 ABC Symphony Australia Young Performers Awards opened on 17 October 2007, with all applications due by 14 December 2007. Stage I auditions will take place between 18 and 29 February, 2008.

Stage III 2008 Instrument Final Winners Announced

All three of the grand finalists for this year’s ABC Symphony Australia Young Performers Awards have now been announced.
The Grand Finalists are Jessica Foot, Maxwell Foster and Rebecca Chan. Each performed to capacity houses across Australia and won $5,000.00 on the night and the right to compete in the Grand Final to be held in Melbourne on 19 September 2008.
